Welcome to ReWrite (the "Application"). This Application is licensed under the ReWrite License, and all related software and documentation are copyrighted by Huỳnh Nam Duy.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the official version of the Application.

1. Open Source Software

ReWrite is open-source software.

The source code is publicly available and may be independently reviewed to verify how information is processed, stored, and transmitted by the Application.

If you are using a modified version distributed by a third party, the behavior of that version may differ from the official release. Modified versions must be clearly identified as modified.

2. Information Collection

No User Accounts

The official version of ReWrite does not require users to create an account or register with the author.

No Centralized Data Collection

ReWrite does not operate any centralized backend service that collects, stores, or maintains user content or personal information.

The author does not collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Physical addresses
• Government-issued identifiers
• Payment information

unless such information is voluntarily included by the user in content submitted to third-party AI providers.

No Analytics or Advertising

The official version of ReWrite does not include:

• Advertising networks
• User tracking systems
• Analytics SDKs
• Behavioral profiling services

3. AI Processing

To provide its core functionality, ReWrite sends user-provided prompts and content directly to selected Artificial Intelligence providers through their official APIs.

Supported providers may include:

• OpenAI
• Google Gemini
• Other providers explicitly supported by the Application

Submitted content is transmitted solely for the purpose of generating requested AI responses.

The author does not store prompts, requests, responses, or conversation data on personal servers.

4. Third-Party Services

When users choose to interact with third-party AI providers, submitted content is processed according to the privacy policies, security practices, and data retention policies of those providers.

AI providers may retain, log, review, or process submitted content in accordance with their own policies.

Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of any AI provider they choose to use.

The author of ReWrite does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

5. API Keys

If the Application allows users to provide their own API credentials:

• API keys are stored locally on the user's device.
• API keys are not transmitted to the author.
• API keys are used solely for communication with the selected AI provider.

Users are responsible for protecting their own API credentials.

6. Local Storage

Application settings, preferences, and locally saved data are stored on the user's device.

The author does not have access to locally stored information.

Users are responsible for securing their own devices and local data.

7. Application Permissions

ReWrite may request access to certain device features that are necessary for its operation, including:

• Internet access for communication with AI providers.
• Local file access when users choose to open, import, save, or export files.
• Clipboard access when users explicitly use clipboard-related features.

The Application does not intentionally access device resources beyond what is required to provide requested functionality.

8. Data Security

Communications between the Application and supported AI providers are transmitted using industry-standard encrypted HTTPS connections.

While reasonable efforts are made to support secure communications, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The Application is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

The author does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact the author.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Any updates will be reflected on this page together with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Continued use of the Application after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
